BELOW IS JUST A LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA State of Wisconsin has purchased 2000 plus acres to create third largest State Park in Wisconsin. This park will be in the Caldron Falls area and great asset for visitors and area. Watch for further news. Marinette County Forest provides many opportunities. The opportunity to hunt bear, deer, and grouse. Visitors can travel over miles and miles of snowmobile trails or ski through quiet winter wonderlands. Anglers can fish for trout on hundreds of miles of unspoiled rushing streams. Tourists and residents have the opportunity to drive the rustic roads and visit parks with breathtaking waterfalls. The country forest is comprised of approximately 231,000 acres and ranks as the second largest county forest in Wisconsin. The majority of these lands are open for the public to enjoy. There are 11 county operated parks, for information call 715-732-7530. Also in the Twin Bridge Area are 14 public boat landings giving you access to Caldron Falls & High Falls Flowage. There is also a 5 mile area on the Peshtigo River for fly fishing only, located south of Johnson Falls Dam. Here you may enjoy over 200 lakes and 2,000 miles of streams. Summer months you can take in ski shows by the Twin Bridge Ski Team on the 1700 acre high falls flowage. Or, the Crivitz Ski Cats on Lake Noquebay east of Crivitz. Lake Noquebay is approximately 2400 acres, located east of Crivitz, with a great variety of fish, great beaches and public boat landings. The average daytime temperature in summer is 79 degrees and winters daytime average is 19 degrees. The city of Crivitz is a small friendly town with the projected year 2000 population to be approx 1300 people. The largest employer being New Care Nursing Home with approximately 95 people employed.
